The app determines location using cellular network (BTS), Wi-Fi, and if those fail; GPS to show local weather, in turn getting the coordinates from the Mozilla location service. The application needs at least: one base station of GSM network or two reachable wifi networks or any combination of GSM and Wi-Fi networks. Using the widget on your phone or tablet, you can see your location and current weather on the main screen. Location updates can be periodic, (ex. hourly) or the app can use the accelerometer to detect movement of greater distance than a value. Carried in your pocket, the distance increases faster. You can switch location updates off - only weather is then updated. The app updates location and weather in specified intervals. You can for example set update period to one hour o'clock. The weather is updated immediately after location is, or when the screen is turned on - but not more often then once per 15 minutes (and when weather is not updated in the last 15 minutes). These information are used to get location coordinates by Mozilla location service. The app tries to use GPS when location is not available from cell network and Wi-Fi networks. Location coordinates are used to get address by Nominatim service. The address is used in the app or widget. The app uses Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com) service to get current weather.
De applicatie gebruikt het mobiele netwerk, Wi-Fi en GPS om uw locatie op te vragen en het weer te weergeven op uw daadwerkelijke locatie. Als u de widget gebruikt op uw telefoon of tablet, dan kunt u uw locatie en de huidige weersomstandigheden zien. Het bijwerken van de locatie kan periodiek worden gedaan (bijv. ieder uur) of d.m.v. de versnellingsmeter die uw bewegingen detecteert. U kunt automatisch bijwerken van de locatie uitschakelen; in dat geval wordt alleen het weer bijgewerkt. Bijwerken d.m.v. versnellingsmeter: de locatie wordt bijgewerkt op basis van de door de versnellingsmeter gemeten afstand. Als de afstand langer dan de minimale waarde is, dan wordt uw locatie bijgewerkt. De afstand is afhankelijk van hoe u uw telefoon bij u draagt: als u uw telefoon in een zak meeneemt, dan wordt de afstand sneller berekend omdat de telefoon beweegt terwijl u onderweg bent. Het weer wordt onmiddellijk bijgewerkt na het bijwerken van uw locatie. Het weer wordt ook bijgewerkt als het scherm wordt aangezet, maar niet meer dan eens per 15 minuten (en het weer niet is bijgewerkt in de laatste 15 minuten). Om de locatie op te vragen wordt gebruik gemaakt van het mobiele netwerk (BTS) en Wi-Fi. Deze informatie wordt gebruikt om de locatiecoördinaten op de vragen bij Mozilla's locatiedienst. De applicatie probeert GPS te gebruiken als er geen locatie kan worden gevonden via een netwerk. De locatiecoördinaten worden gebruikt om een adres op te vragen bij Nominatim's dienst.
